Silicone Pigments: Selection Guidance
Planning consistent color in silicone materials
Silicone pigments and color pastes are used to develop color in compatible material systems. Choosing a color solution starts with the base silicone, processing route, intended appearance and any relevant production or end-use requirements.
Important checks include pigment carrier compatibility, dispersion method, color reference, recommended addition rate and final curing behavior. The appearance of a mixed or cured part should be validated using an approved sample and production-representative processing.
Document the approved sample, batch reference and viewing conditions used for acceptance. A processing change, material substitution or different finished-part thickness may affect perceived color, so sample approval should be part of the production workflow.
